Father Berg Visits Saint Michael’s and District Headquarters

Father John Berg, FSSP, Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter, made a visit to North American District Headquarters recently.  As part of his visit here in northeast Pennsylvania, Father paid a visit to Saint Michael the Archangel, our parish in Scranton, where he offered a Solemn High Mass on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Fr. Berg was assisted at Mass by Fr. Jose Zepeda, FSSP, pastor of Saint Michael’s, as Deacon, and Fr. Michael Stinson, FSSP, Bursar for the District, as Subdeacon.

Father gave a lovely sermon in honor of Our Lady’s Immaculate Conception, and, following the Angelus, he joined parishioners for a potluck dinner in his honor.

There Father gave a talk on our 25th anniversary, speaking extensively on the three pillars of the Fraternity:

  1. Scholastic priestly formation according to Saint Thomas Aquinas.
  2. Providing the traditional Sacraments of the Roman Rite, with the goal of providing large, stable and vibrant parishes in order to assist the faithful in their path of sanctity and the formation of future generations of Catholics.
  3. Fidelity to the See of Peter in the preservation and defense of the Deposit of Faith.

The community was grateful for the visit, and Father enjoyed an afternoon of fellowship.  Enjoy pictures of the Mass, dinner and talk.
