Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminarians Venture to Denver
Recently the priestly staff of Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary led the seminarians on their second ausflug (outing) in the past three years to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Fraternity apostolate in Denver. The ausflug is a time for the seminarians to enjoy recreation time together and grow closer in fraternal society.
While there, the seminarians and priests hiked the beautiful Rocky Mountains, assisted at two solemn Masses, and participated in the parish picnic, where football, softball, and socializing were enjoyed by all.
One of the Masses offered while in Denver was the Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost, offered by OLGS professor Fr. Robert Ferguson, FSSP, who was assisted by Rev. Mr. Philipp Faschinger, FSSP, as deacon and Fr. James Jackson, FSSP, pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, as Subdeacon.

Solemn High Mass and Confirmations at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Cathedral
The Most Reverend Andrew Cozzens, Auxiliary Bishop of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, generously offered to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Extraordinary Form in the Cathedral of St. Paul at 10am on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Bishop Cozzens confirmed more than 60 children from All Saints, our Minneapolis apostolate, and several other parishes of the Archdiocese, using the ancient rite of the Church.
A Traditional Solemn High Mass celebrating the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary followed the Confirmation ceremony. The majestic and beautiful Cathedral of St. Paul, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year, had not seen the Traditional Latin Mass celebrated in such glory in decades, and more than 1,000 of the Catholic faithful were in attendance at this historic event.
Bishop Cozzens made his entrance into the Cathedral at 9:30am and was assisted by the priests of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter, including Fr. Josef Bisig, FSSP, as his Assistant, Fr. Peter Bauknecht, FSSP, as Deacon, and Fr. Simon Harkins, FSSP, as the Master of Ceremonies. In addition, Fr. Timothy Coultier of the Archdiocese assisted as Subdeacon, and seminarians of St. Paul’s Seminary were acolytes and servers, assisted by altar boys from All Saints.
We offer our sincerest thanks to the good bishop for his generous assistance with both the Mass and Confirmations.

Confraternity of St. Peter Pilgrimage to England
Forty members of the Confraternity of Saint Peter recently made a pilgrimage to England, led by Fr. Michael Stinson, FSSP, Bursar for the North American District. Sites visited during the pilgrimage included:
- The ancient Marian shrine of Walsingham, which, although destroyed under Henry VIII, is still today a shrine with more than 100,000 pilgrims a year.
- York, where Constantine was proclaimed emperor and where 72 Catholics were later martyred for their faith.
- The oratory of Bl. John Newman, in Birmingham.
- Shakespeare’s home and grave, in Stratford-upon-Avon.
- Oxford, unfortunate location of martyrdom for many English Catholics.
- The shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in West Grinstead.
- The Carmelite monastery in Aylesford, wherein lies St. Simon Stock, and where he received the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
- In London, St. Etheldredas, which is the second oldest church in England, was visited, as well as St. James, which was the first church built after the Reformation.
- Tyburn Convent, where so many were martyred that they installed three gallows.
- The final day, Mass was with Frs. Stinson and Armand de Malleray, chaplain of the Confraternity, at his parish of St. William of York, in Reading.
The pilgrimage was made fruitful by numerous priests and guides that detailed the unfortunate end of so many Catholics during the Reformation. Even more details and pictures are available in our newest newsletter. If you do not receive our monthly newsletter, sign up today.
